ALCOHOL

Many parents and young people think getting drunk is just a normal part of growing up. However drinking alcohol can be risky for young people as their bodies and brains are not fully developed to deal with the consequences.

There is a lot that you can do to influence your children in a positive way, so that they can make responsible decisions about alcohol now and in the future.

SEX

Alcohol can also increases risk taking behaviour and impairs judgement, young people who drink are more likely to have sex and less likely to practice safe sex. This increases their risk of them contracting sexually transmitted infections and an increased risk of unwanted pregnancy and sexual assault.
