EDAAT are a dedicated team that works on behalf of EDAP to co-ordinate all substance misuse work streams including the delivery and performance management of services. EDAAT are part of the emerging Public Health service area in the Adult Health and Community Wellbeing directorate within Essex County Council EDAAT Core Business:Commissioning To commission and performance manage quality services on behalf of EDAP for adults, children and young people across Essex. Criminal Justice Project Management To secure and performance manage an effective Criminal Justice Interventions Service across Essex. Localities To strengthen Essex locality voices with Community Saftey Partnerships and other local groups to positively influence EDAP strategies and commissioning. Partnership Co-ordination To effectively co-ordinate EDAP partners to ensure alignment of key objectives and continually develop partnership working to the benefit of service users and the communities of Essex.Carers, Users and Families To listen and learn from carers, users and families to ensure that their voice positively influences all EDAP working. Regional and National Links To produce a seamless link between Essex substance misuse work and National and Regional standards and best practice. Essex Drug and Alcohol Action Team (EDAAT) is responsible for co-ordinating all county wide substance misuse work streams on behalf of the Essex Drug and Alcohol Partnership (EDAP). EDAAT are part of the emerging Public Health service area in the Adult Health and Community Wellbeing directorate within Essex County Council (ECC). The team consists of fourteen staff members headed up by a Strategic Manager. It is responsible for turning all Essex Drug and Alcohol Partnership (EDAP) visions and strategies into reality. EDAP are responsible for the deliver the HM Government National Drug Strategy 2010 ‘Reducing Demand, Restricting Supply, Building Recovery: Supporting People to Live Drug Free Lives’ in Essex (excluding Southend and Thurrock). This includes development of the EDAP Strategy which outlines a local response to identified need and the commissioning, delivery and performance management of all substance misuse work streams.
