Essex Drug and Alcohol Action Team (EDAAT) is responsible for co-ordinating all county wide drug and alcohol government requirements on behalf of the Essex Drug and Alcohol Partnership (EDAP). Hosted by Essex County Council the team consists of fourteen staff members headed up by a Strategic Manager. It is responsible for turning all Essex Drug and Alcohol Partnership (EDAP) visions and strategies into reality.
We work to national guidance from a range of Government departments that are pulled together by the Home Office Drug Strategy Directorate through the National Drug Strategy. To ensure our effectiveness we work closely with colleagues from the Government Office of the Eastern Region (GO-East) and the National Treatment Agency (NTA) in developing and delivering a set of strategic plans that meet national and local priorities.
